Ger is an Ultra Endurance Triathlete, a personal trainer and fitness coach. 

 

In October 2017 Ger competed in and won one of the world’s toughest Ultra endurance events The Deca UK- 10 Ironman distance triathlons in 10 days. Completing it more than four hours ahead of his closest competitor.  

 

In 2018 Ger took on another challenge. After the loss of his brother in law to suicide, Ger teamed up with Mental Health Ireland to help raise funding and awareness for mental health. He tasked himself with completing 52 Ironman’s in 52 weeks for 2018. In May 2018 he also completed a 100 Mile run in 20 hours on a 550 meter loop.

 

Ger believes his vegan plant based diet is a huge contributor to his ability to complete these events, challenges and races. After becoming blinded in one eye when he was a kid, he is a firm believer that we choose to play the cards we’re dealt in life. Paul has trained and mentored people for over 30 years as a keynote speaker all over the world.  After 3 decades in the not-for-profit sector, Paul has successfully transitioned and reinvented as an educator through both his LIVE and online Masterclass events in Communication, Leadership and Personal Development. 

 

Paul's three strands of focus are: Communication, Leadership and Human Flourishing.  His hallmark is making complex things simple.  Paul passionately believes it’s more important to grow people than things.

Logan is a behavioral scientist turned dating coach, and the author of How To Not Die Alone. 

 

As the Director of Relationship Science at the dating app Hinge, she leads a research team dedicated to helping people find love. After studying psychology at Harvard, she ran Google’s behavioral science team—the Irrational Lab. 

 

Her work has appeared in The New York Times, The Atlantic, TIME. The Washington Post, GQ, Glamour, Vice, and on HBO and the BBC.

Lisa and Alana are co-founders of the Gut Stuff and authors of the new book of the same name -The Gut Stuff an empowering guide to your gut and its microbes.

Tim Spector is Professor of Genetic Epidemiology at King's College London. 

He has won several academic awards and published over 700 academic papers, a large proportion of which relate directly to nutrition and the causes of obesity. Since 2011 he has been leading the largest microbiome project in the UK, using genetic sequencing to study the bacteria in the guts of 5,000 twins. He is the lead investigator for BRITISH GUT, the UK's largest open-source science project to understand the microbial diversity of the human gut.

He is a prolific writer with several popular science and diet books, the most recent of which will be the focus of today’s conversation.  That book is called Spoon-Fed: Why Almost Everything We’ve Been Told about Food is Wrong.

Bill Esch, aka The Kettlebell Warrior started with a background in Olympic weightlifting and discovered kettlebell sport in his late ’20s. After five years of dedicated training, he became the first American male to achieve the rank of Master of Sport International Class in kettlebell sport.

Luke is a speaker, health & mindset coach, endurance adventurer and author.

 

Luke has ran through the Sahara desert, down Mt Everest, through a tropical Chinese forest without food or water and his first ever triathlon was a double Ironman distance race taking him 35 hours non-stop to complete.

 

He constantly pushes his physical and mental boundaries to the absolute limit of his capabilities. I’ve been following Luke since I entered the world of endurance racing in 2018 and he has some fantastic stories and a great outlook towards dealing with mental health.

Rob and Yvonne have been together for 20 years, married 12, and are the parents of two young boys.

Like so many couples and families out there, they fell into the trap of convenient food, takeaways and eating out, thinking they were far too busy to cook!

After their first holiday alone without the boys, they returned feeling tired, overweight and almost depressed. Their weight had increased and their energy levels had decreased, therefore they knew something had to change.

They set themselves goals, supported each other and committed to losing weight together. Over the course of two years, they went on to lose a whopping 13 stone (over 180 pounds). 

I’ve been dying to do this episode for nearly a year now; so, I hope you get as inspired from it as I did.
