I’m experimenting with some short form podcasts for the next week or two. These are in addition to the weekly and twice weekly interviews so be sure to let me know if you’re finding them helpful.

I do a 10 Question Q+A Monday-Friday on Instagram and I’ll be taking the questions from there.

Ben is the New York Times bestselling author of the book ‘Beyond Training’ and has a masters degree in exercise physiology and biomechanics.

In 2013 and 2014, Ben was named as one of the world’s top 100 most influential people in health and fitness, and by 2015, he was coaching the world’s top CEO’s, chefs, biohackers, poker players, tennis, motocross and endurance competitors, alongside professional athletes from the UFC, the NBA, and the NFL.

This is an amazing episode. Ben speaks about how to improve your life, health, and overall fitness by making a few simple adjustments to your eating and sleep routines. I got so much from this one and even went back over it afterward with a notepad and pen. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I enjoyed recording it.

Some of the things we talked about:

·      The transition from bodybuilder to Ironman Triathlon

·      Sleep hygiene – temperature, lifestyle, supplements and hacks

·      Ancestral eating and how to eat based on your genetics

·      Diet misconceptions in the fitness industry

·      Ben’s top books recommendation for nutrition

This is a special bonus episode of the podcast about my upcoming seminar in Dublin on April 20th 2019. I hope you enjoy it.

Location: The Hilton Hotel (beside Dublin airport)
Date: Saturday 20th April 2019
Time: 10am – 5pm

Free parking at the Hilton or free shuttle bus from Dublin Airport.

Tickets for Rewire Your Mindset Seminar

Are you looking to Rewire Your Mindset so that you can hit any goal in your fitness, personal or work life? If yes, then this is the seminar for you.

During the full day event, you will learn about the concept of The Four Quadrants (Health, Wealth, Love and Fulfilment) and how rewiring your mindset is critical in making any change in your life.

Here are some of the areas we will be covering on the day.

Building Confidence: using the ‘confidence table’ to hit any goal and how to add legs to that table with small and simple steps.

Designing The ‘Perfect Day’: The days lead into weeks, weeks into months and months into years. When we get the perfect day right, the ‘compound effect’ starts to kick in and difficult things like eating well, training consistently and difficult conversations start to become much easier and automatic.

Goal Setting: There’s a foolproof system for hitting any goal by keeping the end in mind at all times. Once you learn it, you can apply it to all four quadrants.

Dealing with negative people: once you get clear on the action steps needed to improve your four quadrants, you will see how easy it easy to cut (physically or emotionally) from those who pull you backwards. You will also see how to design your inner circle of people who will help you on your journey.

Feeling the fear and doing it anyways: learn the techniques and strategies I used for overcoming my fear of failure, my fear of success and the fear of other peoples opinions.

Habits: tell me what you do every day and I’ll tell you where you’ll be in a year. You will leave the seminar knowing exactly what action steps you need to take in order to hit your end goal and how to stay on course when things get difficult.

Mental health: Use my daily discomfort techniques for overcoming environmental anxiety and depression.

Avoiding self-sabotage: Your biggest enemy lives between your two ears. When we identify why you self sabotage, you will finally be able to get out of your own way and hit any goal that you set for yourself.

If you feel frustrated, unconfident, unsatisfied or unfulfilled in any area of your life, then this seminar is not to be missed! Lets Rewire Your Mindset on the 20th of April 2019.

This is a one take ‘press record and talk’ episode about my experience running 230km through the Arctic circle.

I talk a little about my preparation for the challenge but this episode is heavy on the mindset side of things and focuses heavily on the mental tools I used to get to the finish line after tearing my Achilles 86km from the end.

This was physically the hardest thing I’ve done in my entire life and I recorded it in one go so I hope you enjoy it.

Jay (jtm_fit on Instagram) has an incredible story. He became addicted to drugs and alcohol at a very young age and by the time he was twenty, his life had spiralled out of control. After he hit rock bottom in 2005, he got sober and starting working out.

Since then he has gone out to create the functional method training program, has been featured on Muscle and Fitness, Men Fitness and was ranked the number 1 fitness influencer by Men’s Health in 2017.

I’ve been following Jay on Instagram for about a year and a half and his page is still one of my personal favourites. This is a great episode for anyone looking to find your physical limit and pushing past it.

Things we talked about:

  • Going from being a drug addict to 2017 Men’s Health fitness influencer of the year

  • Jay’s daily training, eating, supplements and recovery

  • Being a skinny kid and not adding any muscle until age 25 (he’s now 33)

Orla qualified as a Dietitian from Kings College London. She initially obtained an honours degree in Physiology from Trinity College, allowing her to apply her detailed knowledge of the human body to the nutritional management of conditions and diseases. Since then Orla upgraded her BA in Physiology to an MA in Physiology and went on to achieve a Masters in Clinical Nutrition at Roehampton University, London.

She is one of my ‘go to’ people when it comes to the latest research on topics and I love her ability to argues the pros and cons for nearly any dietary approach. If you struggle with weight or fat loss, are on the autoimmune spectrum (thyroid issues, IBS, PCOS) or want to know how alcohol affects your sex drive (for the guys), then this is a must listen.

Dr Rupy Aujla, aka The Doctor’s Kitchen on social media, is a medical doctor specialised in General Practice and is a firm believer in the power of food and lifestyle change as medicine.

I’ve learnt a lot in 2018 and in today’s episode I’ve focused on the biggest things I’ve learnt or the things that I’ve changed my mind about over the past twelve months. I hope you enjoy it.

Intermittent fasting makes you feel great!  05:55

Suffering is the secret to mental strength (running) 14:57

Work really doesn’t really feel like work when you get a few things right 27:31

Today’s solo episode is based on feedback from a few recent episodes on building mental strength and getting sh*t done whether you feel like it or not.

I hope it helps.

“We don’t decide our future, we decide our habits and our habits decide our future”

1. Pursue your passion (either in work or personal life or both) 08:31

2. Start a gratitude journal (rewire your brain) 18:37

3. Become your own best friend (don’t let your biggest enemy live between your two ears)27:44

4. Get more sleep (or higher quality sleep) 35:28

5. Disconnect from technology (one day a week digital detox) 46:58

6. Spend time with a good book, meditate or exercise (switch your brain off!) 54:52

7.Learn to let go (hating someone is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die) 01:018

8.Commit to your goals (ask, believe, receive and work. Don’t adjust the goals, adjust the action steps or the time period)  03:10

Former Miss Texas and Miss United State Whitney Miller is a professional wakeboard surfer, MMA fighter and expert on open relationships and helping individuals and couples transform and create relationships that thrive.

Her partner Aubrey Marcus (owner of ONNIT) and her have been in an open relationship for several years and today we talked all things sex, lovers, monogamy and open relationships.

This one was a real eye-opener! I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed recording it.

Some of the things we talked about

  • Going from several failed monogamous relationships to a successful open relationship
  • Dealing with sexual and emotional jealousy
  • Why an open relationship isn’t about ‘having sex with everybody and anybody’ and is about building a stronger bond with your primary partner
  • If you’re single, how to decide if an open relationship is for you
  • If you’re in a relationship, how to decide if an open relationship is worth exploring for you and your partner
  • How open relationships and leaning into the most uncomfortable situations can make you a better partner, daughter and person.
