Michael Anthony (Unbroken) is a best-selling author, speaker and coach who helps trauma survivors get out of the vortex to become the hero of their own story.

Michael is an advocate for adult survivors of child abuse and has been called the “Tony Robbins of Trauma” and spends his time helping other survivors get out of The Vortex to become the hero of their own story and take their live back.

Michael hosts both The Michael Unbroken and Think Unbroken Podcasts and blogs weekly at www.ThinkUnbroken.com

This podcast needs to come with a warning.

Michael had a horrific childhood and there will be content in here that is difficult to listen to. I also share some of my darker life moments in this episode (things I’ve never previously discussed online) so this was a difficult episode to press publish on personally. However, these podcasts tend to be the ones that have life changing impact for those that need it, so I’ve felt the fear and pressed publish anyways (raw and unedited).

I hope it helps those who need it most.

Here are some of the things we talked about:

·     Michael’s horrific childhood and how to heal yourself from trauma

·      Removing your need for external validation.

·      What to do if you have toxic parents (or loved ones)

·      How to release trauma from your body

·      How trauma is stored in the body

·      Understanding the nervous system response after trauma

·      And much more

On top of saying a big thank you to this months podcast sponsor LetsGetChecked - I've also linked a 30% OFF all orders code at the bottom of the email.

LetsGetChecked have been doing my blood work for years and I highly recommend them if you are looking for a discreet way to check your bloods and/or want to track the data (if you geek out on stuff like that like I do)

Here are some of the things you can privately check with their home testing:

  • Testosterone or estrogen levels (to make sure sex drive is healthy and firing as it should be)
  • Thyroid function (to identify the presence of hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism)
  • Cortisol (to check if stress is chronically elevated- something that holds a lot of people back on their weight loss goals in particular)
  • Vitamin D (I check this religiously every winter and supplement back the difference)
  • B12 Ievels (especially important if following a plant based or vegan diet)
  • Sexual health (thankfully, not my area any more.. but where was this discreet service when I was in college? lol)
  • And much more.

Links for each of the above are here:

Thyroid - https://trylgc.com/briankeanethyroid
Cortisol - https://trylgc.com/BrianKeanCortisol
Vitamin - https://trylgc.com/briankeanevitamin
STD testing -  http://trylgc.com/BrianKeaneSTD

If you’re looking for discreet home testing that tracks your results and something a little bit more cost effective than going to your GP for blood work (which I also recommend doing at least once a year if you decideLetsGetChecked isn’t for you) - then head over the website and enter code KEANE30 for 30% off all orders.

Although getting your blood work is such an incredible tool and I couldn’t recommend it more to understand what’s going on with your body, it can be costly, so hopefully the code helps.

Dean is an Athlete and a legend in the sport of ultrarunning.

He is also a two-time New York Times bestselling author and the author or the great new book A Runner’s High.

Dean was named by TIME magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world for pushing his body and mind to inconceivable limits. Among his many accomplishments, he has run 50 marathons, in all 50 US states, in 50 consecutive days. He’s run across Death Valley in the middle of summer, and he’s run a marathon to the South Pole.

His list of competitive achievements includes winning the World’s Toughest Footrace, the Badwater Ultramarathon, and winning the 4 Deserts Challenge, racing in the hottest, driest, windiest and coldest places on earth.

This is our round 2 of the podcast, Dean also appeared on episode 182: Getting Comfortable Being Unconformable in 2018. In today’s show we talk all things ultra-running and mindset for this long overdue episode.

Here are some of the things we talked about:

  •     Developing the mindset of embracing the suck and silencing the voice that tells you to quit
  •     Why you are the sum totals of all your habits and how to create new ones
  •     Why endurance never sleeps and running an ultra is simple, all you have to do is not stop

The importance of mindset growing pains – until you go over the edge, you don’t know how far the edge is

  •     Why the struggle aftermath is important– “that is is most difficult to endure is the most satisfying to reminisce”
  •     Using forward projection to avoid quitting when things get really hard
  •     The game changing advice Dean offered me when I first got into ultra-running
  •     And much more
